We have had a small break from MLBB during this week, but with the weekend approaching, we have a ton in store – including the 1xBet Supernova tournament.
Today, August 8th, 2024, we see a new Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament kicking off, as the 1xBet Supernova tournament comes to us from Almaty, Kazakhstan. With six teams fighting for a prize pool of $100,000, this event is a great way for some of the teams to get some game time before they head into their Mobile Legends Professional League seasons in the coming weeks. The tournament runs from August 8th through to the 10th, where we will see a champion crowned in a stunning best-of-seven grand final.
A quick Group Stage
With only six teams being split into two groups of three each, we will witness a very quick Group Stage to the Supernova tournament – with everyone playing their initial games on Day 1. With no eliminations, the teams will be playing for the top spot in their respective groups, which will get them into the playoffs, while the remaining two teams from each group head into the Play-Ins. The Group Stage features six best-of-three series, as each team in each group plays in a single round-robin style tournament.
Once we reach the next round, the Play-ins will see our first eliminations, while the teams in the Playoff’s Upper Bracket will have the lifeline of the Lower Bracket, should they make an error and lose. While all games will be best-of-three, the Lower Bracket Final will be a best-of-five – while the grand final will be a best-of-seven brawl between the last two remaining challengers.
The teams are set
Although this may seem like a small tournament, it definitely does not have any small teams participating, as we see a list of extremely well-known teams from around the world.
Team Spirit
MadBulls
IHC Esports
Falcons AP.Bren
Team Liquid PH
Aurora Gaming
With the tournament having already begun at the current time of writing, it will be very interesting to see if teams such as Liquid Echo and Bren will be using this as a testing ground for the upcoming MPL PH Season 14 – and, more importantly, just what Aurora can do as the new team on the block.
