Yeb, The head coach of ONIC Esports, will take a break for a while to accompany his pregnant wife.
ONIC Esports' head coach, Denver "Yeb" Miranda, will take a break for an unknown amount of time to accompany his pregnant wife. ONIC Esports made this announcement before the start of a new MPL Indonesia season. In his absence, Adi will take charge of the team as head coach until Yeb makes his return.
While Adi's experience and talent are not on a level to joke about, Yeb's absence will surely be a significant loss to the Indonesian team's campaign to secure global domination in the Mobile Legends esports scene. Sonic (ONIC Esports fans' name) will surely miss the personality, draft, and strategy of the Phillippines native.
Under Yeb's guidance, ONIC Esports became a force of nature both nationally and internationally. They are arguably the strongest team in the world on paper, even though they lost against AP. Bren in the grand final of the M5 World Championship.
Together with Yeb, ONIC Esports have won three consecutive MPL Indonesia from seasons 10 to 12, the MSC one in 2023, fourth place finish in M4 World Championship, and, most recently, the runner-up of M5 World Championship.
This achievement also has a dash of unique fact. They are on a streak of never touching the lower bracket side of a playoff in every tournament they participated in in the 2023 season.
Before joining ONIC Esports Indonesia, he was also able to guide the Phillippines branch of the team to the runner-up spot in the M3 World Championship despite never won the MPL Phillippines.
It will be interesting to see when he makes his return and brings his acumen back to the current, defending champion of MPL Indonesia. Until then, we would like to say have a nice break and see you soon, Yeb!
