While the final Mobile Legends Professional League tournament for the year is underway in the Philippines, we had news during the event that Moonton had entered into a new partnership to enrich and empower the region even more during the M5 World Championship later this year. Alongside this, we also had news of early bird ticket bundles for the event, as well as confirmation of another venue.

The partnership

First and foremost, Moonton confirmed that a new Memorandum of Agreement had been signed on October 25, joining them with the Philippines Department of Tourism (DoT) to co-host the M5 World Championship, which begins on December 2nd, 2023. During a meeting held at the EVM Convention Center, the two entities came together to lock in the official partnership. With the tournament set to welcome thousands of fans into the country and viewers across the globe, this will make for a far better tournament for all.

Attorney Mae Elaine Bathan, Chief of Staff of the DoT had the following to say on the partnership,

“We are proud to be part of history as we welcome participants in our country. We know many Filipinos play and support the game. Today, our esports industry stands on the edge of this tremendous growth, attracting a diverse audience, and we would like to take advantage of this diversity and convert them into tourists who love our country and explore further the bounty of our nation.”

The tickets and venues

Following this came the announcement of the new PH Super Pass and MVP Pass early bird ticket bundles for M5, which will go on sale on November 3rd, 2023 – just over a week away. Each pass allows the buyer access to the Group Stage, Knockout Stage, and the Grand Finals of M5 main event, but only available in limited quantities. Along with this, three venues were confirmed for the tournament, with three different parts to the tournament.

The Wildcard Tournament will be hosted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, at the Jio Space, while the Group Stage and first part of the Knockout Stage will take us to Manila, PH – namely the EVM Convention Center. Those who follow the PH scene will know this as the same venue where the current MPL PH playoffs are being held. Finally, the second part of the Knockout Stage and the Grand Finals themselves will be held at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

With all of this information, we are setting up for an absolutely majestic M5 this year, which will even include the Wildcard itself giving us MLBB action before the main event begins. We are excited to see every team show off their best as we are now only a month away from the Wildcard beginning.

Update: As of this morning, October 26, 2023, the early bird tickets have sold out. Having launched only yesterday, both the PH Super Pass and MVP Pass, priced between $50-$60 approximately, have been snatched up by the fans of MLBB. The MVP Pass version took a mere three hours to completely sell out, with the PH Super Pass following soon after - showing that everyone is excited and ready for the M5 World Championship to get underway.
