After a magnificent weekend of playoffs action, the Mobile Legends Professional League’s sixth season in Singapore came to its conclusion, as Team Flash and RSG Singapore went head-to-head in the grand finals. With both the trophy for the region and a spot at the M5 World Championship on the line, it was an intense series between the two teams, which saw some huge plays and a victor emerge in the form of Team Flash.

Hadess pulls Flash through

Having already dominated Flash in the upper bracket, RSG came into the grand finals of MPL SG Season 6 as the favourites – although they had lost to the team during the Regular Season. As the top challenger, Flash set things up for an epic last attempt to take down the Kings of SG with a win over Evil in the lower bracket finals. However, they seemed to have found their match in RSG once again, with the reigning champions easily securing the first two games of the series. Even with an unconventional draft featuring Alpha and Cyclops in game one, RSG secured a commanding series lead.

With a Hayabusa pick for Jaymark Aaron “Hadess” Lazaro in game three, Flash took control, with the assassin running rampant through the RSG lineup across the map. Pulling one game back, the Philippines import picked the same hero again in game four, but this time he was completely countered by his opponents. From the start, RSG pulled more than half their team into Hadess jungle, killing him and taking away both his purple and orange buffs constantly. Unable to ever find their footing from this, Flash went down another game.

With championship point in hand, it looked as though RSG had everything in the bag, deciphering nearly every move that Flash made at every turn. But the resilience of Flash came out again when they needed it most. A quick-thinking Hadess on Helcurt found the perfect opening to backdoor the dominant RSG and take us to a game six, with the challengers hoping to keep finding a way back.

Just when all hope seemed lost for Flash, they pulled out something special, with their Crystal a mere one hit from destruction and the series ending. It was Adam “Adammir” Chong’s Fredrinn which completed the miraculous save, helping his team to stall and buy time to wipe out RSG and take us to a decisive game seven. Suddenly having the wind in their sails, Flash looked an entirely revitalised team as the final game begun, while RSG went back for the tried and tested Mathilda for Lucianqt.

It was another fantastic game from Hadess, this time on the Aamon, assassinating RSG player possible. In what was the most epic turnarounds from a team, Flash found themselves taking a massive victory. With that, Team Flash became the champions of MPL SG Season 6 and would be their region’s representative at the M5 World Champions later this year. For RSG SG, their record-breaking run comes to an end today.
