Another epic week of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang begins, and we are definitely going to be paying attention to more MPL action.
MLBB continues to close out its Mobile Legends Professional League events across the globe, and they have given us plenty to shout about. With the most recent weekend seeing ONIC Esports secure the “three-peat” in Indonesia, and both them and Geek Fam ID moving on to the M5 World Championships in December, our eyes turn elsewhere – namely Singapore, and another up-and-coming region too.

SG takes centre stage
MPL Singapore Season 6 may have been on a short break between the Regular Season and playoffs, but there is absolutely no doubt that the eight involved teams will be ready to kick things off again this week. Starting Friday, October 20, the teams will battle it out for the region’s singular spot at M5, and the chance to become champions of MPL SG. This season has definitely turned up the heat, with a few contenders to the title.
While RSG Singapore go in search of a fourth win in a row, teams such as Homebois SG and Team Flash will be hot on their heels. The lower bracket also offers some interesting opening series, with Stellark SG and EVIL hoping to make some headway through the dreaded elimination series. It’s hard to pin down exactly which will be the best series to watch, but when it comes to playoffs, everything is usually exciting.
MENA is next
Middle-East and North Africa may be a smaller region within the MPL family, but it has come a long way in its short time. While we have seen Occupy Thrones during the M4 World Championship, where they managed to beat out the likes of RSG SG and BURN x FLASH in the final standings, we are definitely getting a new challenger for M5, after Team Occupy were disqualified from MPL MENA Fall 2023, along with Geekay Esports.
Although Geekay were originally the leaders of the Regular Season, both themselves and Occupy found themselves in hot water with Moonton, and ended up being disqualified from the competition. This leaves us with only Triple Esports, Twisted Minds, Okami Esports, and Team Falcons, of which there are a few previous MENA victors within the teams. However, it does also mean that we will see a new team be crowned champion of MPL MENA and entering the grand stage at M5. With only two series to watch on the opening day, October 19, it will not be difficult to choose, but by Saturday, MENA will have a new champion.
All-in-all, this week is shaping up to be another one for the history books of MLBB, especially considering how much traction regions such as Malaysia have seen in recent times. We will be keeping up with everything going on via our MLBB tab, and with this being the final two teams (apart from MPL Philippines) to qualify to M5, it will definitely be worth watching.
