Although we may be in the depths of the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup 2023, teams are definitely already beginning to look ahead to the upcoming MPL season – Season 12 for Indonesia. For Rex Regum Qeon, their sudden fall from the top 2 in the region means that this is an extremely important season, as they look to get back on top. With that, the team has made some big changes to their roster, all of which were confirmed via a YouTube video.

Shortly after VYN announced his departure from the RRQ roster in late May of this year, the team snapped up the well-known ex-Falcon Esports roamer, Naomi. With that, the rebuild began, and it was only a few days ago on June 13, when we finally saw the pieces coming together. The next piece of the RRQ puzzle would be the addition of Ferxiic, a player known for his amazing jungle role performances. Although Alberttt still remains a fixture in the roster, Ferxiic could bring in a new dynamic should they choose to utilise him during the season.

The final player confirmed for the roster would be one that has been in RRQ colours for quite some time, now returning to take his spot and hopefully assist the team in returning to their former glory. XINNN, who has been inactive for over a year within the competitive scene, makes his triumphant return to the active roster – moving from his old jungle role into the gold lane position. Once again, with Skylar present, XINNN may just be someone that the team keep for special occasions when something different is required.

Alongside this, the ID squad has also seen a change in their coaching staff, as Bangduk departs and makes room for Zaya “Sayargyi” Win Paing – who follows his countryman, Naomi, from Falcon Esports.

The full RRQ roster is:

Min Ko “Naomi” Ko
Deden “Clayyy” Mohamed
Albert Neilsen “ALBERTTT” Iskandar
Andre Raymond “Banana” Putra
Deven “RENBO” Markos (CIPUY)
Schevenko David “Skylar” Tendean
Muhammad “Lemon” Ikhsan
Perdyansyah “Ferxiic” Kamaruddin
Yesaya Omega Armando “XINNN” Wowiling

With such a wide range of players, RRQ will be hoping to retake their spot atop the ID region in the upcoming MPL Season 12. It will be interesting to see how they fare with a new coach, and so many new faces – and when they decide to utilise the experience of XINNN or RENBO through the season. While we do not have confirmed dates for Season 12, we are looking forward to seeing just what RRQ can bring to the table.
