MWI 2024: Vietnam's best Kagura sets her sights on victory

Zino Lilies have already taken Mekong by storm, and now SAA’s Kagura is looking to test her skills against the rest of the world.

We are quickly heading towards the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women’s Invitational 2024, and teams from around the world are ready to make their mark on the international stage as the tournament heads to the Esports World Cup. We have already taken a look at some of the competing teams, and today our attention turns to the women from Vietnam in Zino Lilies, who are looking to put themselves and their region on the map in MLBB.

Paving a path forward

While MLBB has been striving to reach new territories, there are still a few regions at the top – namely the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. However, Vietnam, and many other regions, have been slowly showing signs of life and taking on the best at every turn. Zino Lilies is one such team, as they went completely unbeaten through the Mekong Qualifier to claim their spot at MWI 2024. This team is not one that is new to the challenge of the MWI either – at least not completely, with a few of their players having been a part of MDH Phoenix at MWI 2023.

With that said, last time around, the VN team was only able to take a fifth-eighth place finish, but this year they will be hoping to stamp their name into the history books and take their team to the top. An insanely motivated team that puts in late hours just for training and team boosting, Zino Lilies could just be one of the teams that creates a bit of chaos at MWI 2024.

  • Văng Thị “SAA” Yến Nhi
  • Nguyễn Thị “Shieromi” Ngọc Tú
  • Trinity Christina “Ramici” Reyes Ramos
  • Đô Thị “Kao” Huyền Trang
  • Denise Leyda “Taro” Marasigan
  • Nông Thị “Daisy” Ngọc Ánh

The best Kagura in Vietnam

When it comes to female MLBB players from the region, SAA is the first to come to mind for anyone who follows the game. As a midlaner, SAA is one of the most passionate and outspoken players, with crazy perseverance when playing the game. As the standout player on the team, SAA excels on the likes of Lunox and Pharsa – but her call to fame is that she refers to herself confidently as the best Kagura in the region. This self-proclaimed title is one which helped her score the MVP title during the Mekong MWI 2024 Qualifiers, and what makes her such a danger on the Land of Dawn.

Although MLBB in VN was not excelling as fast as it has in other regions, SAA's determination has made her stick with it, and now she looks to take Zino Lilies to the top. Her Kagura play, as well as any other middle lane picks she gets, could be the turning point needed for the region to shine. But there is a whole world of Kagura players competing at MWI 2024, and SAA’s talents are definitely going to be put to the test – the big question will be if she can live up to the hype and take the team to the top.

MWI 2024 is merely one month away from kicking off, and if their previous training rituals are anything to go on, Zino Lilies will be burning the midnight oil in preparation. Boasting a huge $500,000 prize pool, the event is sure to make even the smallest of teams throw everything at each and every opponent they face. We are excited to see what Zino Lilies can bring to the Land of Dawn when the tournament kicks off on July 24th.
