Everything you need to know about the Faker 'Hall of Legends' collection event

The Hall of Legends event will take place in June.

When it was first announced that Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok was the first inductee into Riot Games' Hall of Legends, many wondered what they would be cooking for the event. Arguably the best mid-laner to touch League of Legends, Faker has more than earned his right to be the first player inducted into the Hall of Legends.

However, his induction into this first-ever event has been marred by the hefty price tag Riot placed on a new bundle of skins created to commemorate his stature as the best in the game. The Hall of Legends event pass (essentially a battle pass) will be available to all players on the LoL game client and will allow players to grind to 100 levels worth of cosmetics, all of which are Faker-themed.

Hall of Legends - Event Pass

The Hall of Legends is essentially the League of Legends Esports equivalent to the Hall of Fame, most notably in traditional sporting institutions like the NBA and the NFL to name a few. This was meant to be seen as a highly prolific honour to any player inducted into the Hall of Legends. This also benefits both the player and the organisation he is signed to as they will receive 30 per cent of the revenue generated from the HoL event pass sales and commemorative collections.

Seeing as Faker is the first-ever inductee into the Hall of Legends, Riot had gone all out for both the event pass as well as the commemorative skin collections, which will be made available come June 12 at 11:00 a.m. PT and will end on July 8 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Some of the cosmetics you can stand to claim from across 100 levels of the event pass include the Faker-themed Mythic LeBlanc skin as well as SKT T1-themed looks for Ryze, Syndra, and Zed.

Here's the full list of rewards you can claim from the event pass:

  • Risen Legend LeBlanc Skin
  • SKT T1 Zed, Ryze & Syndra Skins
  • “Broccoli Baron” Title
  • Unkillable Demon King Banner
  • 14 Faker-ific Icons & Emotes
  • Hide on bush Ward
  • 125 Mythic Essence
  • 6 Orbs

The Hall of Legends event pass will cost 1,950 RP (approx. $16), which can be purchased in-game. However, the amount and price of RP one can purchase depends on which region you're playing from.

Hall of Legends - Ahri Collections

As the collection event is all about celebrating and commemorating Faker's achievements in the games over a decade-long career, Ahri was chosen as the champion of choice for the line of exclusive skins for the fabled mid-laner. And across all three skins, you can start from the base collection, known as the Risen Legend or just go straight for the Signature Immortalised Legend Collection.

This is what you can expect to get from all three collections:

While the Risen Legend collection is fairly reasonable in terms of pricing, it's the Immortalised and Signature Immortalised Legend collections that have had the community fuming. Riot has also stated that specific RP bundles will be available for sale during the collection event to ensure you won't be spending more than you need to. But given the discrepancy between the prices of all three skin collections, you can understand why people are upset.
