Immortals rebuild its roster with the AD carry at its core.
Immortals have kept Edward “Tactical” Ra as the sole member from this season's squad and recruited four fresh faces to finalise its starting roster for next season. This includes two former KT Rolster Challenger players in the form of Hyeon-seong “Castle” Cho and Sang-hun “Mask” Lee. They will be joined by Jonathan “Armao” Armao who has been bounced around the LCS for some time now as well as Joo-Sung “Olleh” Kim, who last played with Golden Guardians.
Since rejoining the LCS back in 2020, Immortals have found it difficult to maintain a consistent roster. They have so far failed to challenge for a top spot to win an LCS title or even qualify for an international event. The one and only time Immortals did attend Worlds was back in 2017. This was also the year they came closest to lifting an LCS title but unfortunately came second to TSM.
And for the third time in four seasons, Immortals have come in last at least once a year with 2021 being their best performing season. Despite having a decent roster on paper, they never truly seemed to be able to pull off great victories on a consistent basis. However, with the introduction of some experienced LCS players now on its roster, things could start to look up for Immortals.
The one downside is that there will be fewer games to play seeing as the LCS have since shifted to an eight-team league after the departure of both Evil Geniuses and Golden Guardians. While the schedule hasn't fully been revealed just yet, it will be interesting to see just how well this new Immortals roster can perform next season.
