Dplus KIA 2024 Season Roster

Dplus KIA make three changes to its roster for the 2024 season

It is yet another rebuild for Dplus KIA.

Former world champions Dplus KIA have rebuilt its roster once again by bringing in three new faces, one of which was from the Dplus KIA Challengers squad in the form of jungler Yong-hyeok “Lucid” Choi. He will be making his LCK debut next season alongside veterans like the Worlds 2022 champion toplaner, Hwang “Kingen” Seong-hoon and the former KT Rolster AD carry, Kim “Aiming” Ha-ram.

These three new players will be joined by Dplus' star midlaner Heo “ShowMaker” Su, who recently signed a three-year contract extension with the organisation. Support player Kim “Kellin” Heong-gyu also resigned with the team to add some much-needed balance and experience on the team.

This will be the second time that Dplus have brought in a former world champion from DRX's Cinderella run last season as they brought in HyeokGyu “Deft” Kim for this season. Unfortunately, it didn't quite pan out for Dplus this season. Since joining the LCK back in 2019, this season was Dplus' worst to date with back-to-back fifth-place finishes during the regular season. Despite winning three LCK titles in a row from the middle of 2020 to the end of 2021, Dplus have since regressed over the past couple of years.

Their performance at Worlds 2023 wasn't any better either, which saw them win only two out of the five Swiss Stage matches they had to play. They would lose the first two games of the Swiss Stage but managed to win the next two on the bounce, leaving a best-of-three deciding series with KT, only to lose once again.

Dplus have had a consistent record at Worlds since 2019 as their lowest recorded placement was a top-eight finish. All that ended this year as Dplus was knocked out before the playoffs, the first time it has ever happened to the org. It also didn't help that they lost former head coach-turned-director Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun last season and have failed to replace the void since then. However, with ShowMaker showing great loyalty by resigning for another three years, Dplus have essentially built its roster around the star midlaner.
