Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok revealed his arm injury following a match against Nongshim RedForce.
Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok, one of the most well-known players in the League of Legends esports scene playing for T1, has revealed that he's battling an arm injury that has impacted his performance in recent matches. The mid laner announced his injury during a press conference after T1 went up against Nongshim RedForce in the LCK Summer Split.
T1 lost against Nongshim RedForce, and Faker was clearly unsatisfied with his performance during the match. At a press conference following the game, Faker said that he’s been suffering from arm pain - but did not divulge further details on the injury. He went on to assure attendees that he was already receiving treatment for the injury, which has been affecting his performance since T1 went up against BRION in mid-June.
A T1 official confirmed that Faker would head back to a hospital for a more detailed diagnosis of his injury according to Talkesport, which hopefully happens before T1 goes up against DRX on July 5. LCK's fast-paced schedule doesn’t give Faker much time to rest between matches, but the player doesn’t seem ready to back out for now. Fans can likely expect T1 to share another update on Faker’s health closer to the July 5 match.
T1 isn’t in a bad place in the LCK Summer Split right now, having gone 4-1 in their matches with just one loss against KT Rolster. Faker currently has a KDA of 3.4, which is just a tenth of a point below his usual seasonal average of 3.5 - even despite his current injury - according to Oracle’s Elixir.
