Excel Esports' final roster includes two LEC veterans alongside young and promising talents

Excel Esports is hoping to build on its performances in the LEC for next season.

The British organisation has confirmed its roster for the upcoming 2023 season by bringing in four new players to join AD carry, Patrik "Patrik" Jírů. This includes reigning LEC Spring and Summer champions like Andrei "Odoamne" Pascu from Rogue as well as Raphaël "Targamas" Crabbé, formerly of G2 Esports.

The other two players that will be joining the rest in Excel Esports are Andrei "Xerxe" Dragomir and Vincent "Vetheo" Berrié. The former was previously with Astralis while the latter was with Misfits Gaming before it sold its slot to Team Heretics. While the likes of Patrik, Odoamne, Targamas, and Xerxe have plenty of LEC experience, this leaves Xerxe as the only promising prospect for the future.

The mid-laner has only been in the LEC since the start of last season during his time with Misfits Gaming. While he was seen as one of the most promising talents in the region, he has yet to have the chance to prove himself on the international stage. With plenty of veterans on the squad with the experience to boot, next season could be Excel's time to shine.

With the help of two reigning LEC regional champions in the form of Odoamne and Targamas, this could be exactly what Excel needs to put itself back on the map. The team has endured a rough start to their LEC stint, not making it out of the group stages on three previous occasions. This year was the organisation's first time making it to the playoffs and both times they got knocked out in the first round.

After heavily rebuilding during the off-season, Excel will now have a chance to showcase the organisation's full potential with its four new signings. It will take some time for the team to gel and get used to one another's playstyle and hopefully it gets off to the front foot for next season.

Finalised Excel Esports Roster:

Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu

Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir

Vincent “vetheo” Berrié

Patrik “Patrik” Jírů

Raphaël “Targamas” Crabbé
