Many debate who the best ADC in the world is. Almost everyone can agree it is either Hyuk-kyu "Deft" Kim or Seung-bin "imp" Gu , but the argument between these two is unending. Here is the history of the stars.
Both Deft and imp come from the former MVP teams, transitioning into the Samsung organization in 2014. They were on opposite teams, Blue and White, respectively. White, historically, was always ahead of Blue, with a single League Championship victory in Spring 2013, and two higher placed seasons in the same year. In 2014, however, Blue placed higher and won once. In the 2014 Worlds Championship, the two teams met in the semifinals. Deft and imp have the same amount of titles under their belt at this point, and winning this match seemed to be the real final of the tournament. White 3-0’d Blue, giving imp his world champion title, along with the edge on Deft.
At the start of 2015, both Samsung teams disbanded, and all their players spreading around to Chinese teams. Deft ended up on EDward Gaming with Heo "PawN" Won-seok, while imp on LGD Gaming with Blue's ex-top laner, Choi "Acorn" Cheon-ju. EDG destroyed the regular season, placing first and winning thirty eight of their forty four games. LGD only placed sixth out of twelve teams. However, during the playoffs, they made a Cinderella run, not dropping a single game until the finals versus EDG. Both Deft and imp played their hearts out, bringing it to a game 5. Game 5 was close, but EDG pulled ahead off of a single baron fight, sending them to the Mid-Season Invitational, which they took over Korea's SKT T1 3-2.
The summer of 2015 was yet again a similar story. EDG placed first in the regular season; LGD placed fifth, meaning they met in the semifinals of playoffs this time. This time, however, LGD took only three games to beat EDG, putting themselves into the finals, which they ended up winning. With the victory, LGD has qualified as first seed for Worlds 2015. EDG went into the gauntlet and won the second seed, putting Deft and imp against each other, yet again, on the Worlds stage.

imp is known for his fiery and aggressive play style, single handedly carrying his team. With his "protectors", Choi "DanDy" In-kyu and Cho "Mata" Se-hyeong, there to back up his mistakes from over-aggression, imp was allowed to unleash his wrath onto his opponents on Samsung White. Known for his high win/lose on Caitlyn, Twitch, and Vayne, imp is a very upbeat and loud person, in game and out.
Deft, on the other hand, is very quiet. He likes to sit back and let things happen as they would without much interference. Once he felt he was farmed enough, however, he and his team will destroy in team fights. Known for his mid game, his plays on Ezreal, Kog'Maw, and Lucian, enable whatever team he is on to succeed with style. Both players have won a Korea Championship and a China Championship. The only difference is Deft won the first and only MSI, while imp has won the fourth World Championship.
Deft and imp have extremely opposite play styles, personalities, and roles on their teams. They have been rivals since the start of their careers in Korea, which continued into China. Both have similar accomplishments, just at different periods of time. Their legacies continue to build up together; against each other.
