Riot promises to make changes to NA and EU LCS to better accommodate fans of both regions.
To accompany their sweeping game changes, Riot will also make changes to the structures of the European and North American League Championship Series. The first and most significant changes will affect the times at which teams play. EU and NA are switching regions. EU will play Thursdays and Fridays at 19:00 CET while NA will play on Saturdays and Sundays at 21:00 CET. These changes better accommodate European fans of North American teams, which previously took place much later in the day.
In addition, each split will now span eleven weeks instead of nine. The purpose of this is probably to space out the season more and play fewer matches on each day, though Riot promises that there will still be two super weeks and one week taking place "at a road show," such as MLG.
