I've been binging Battlegrounds effectively since it opened up, and at the start I realized I wanted more data that it was giving me. Being a nerd, I started a simple Excel sheet, which has grown into a larger doc that I wanted to share with you all. There isn't a ton of data out there on BG quite yet, I hope this is interesting and potentially helpful!
About the Data & Author
I've been playing Hearthstone since open beta years ago. Depending on my workload, I typically play constructed to Rank 5 > Legend each month. In Battlegrounds, I am currently at 7.7k ELO. https://imgur.com/7DypnNy
My places by hero represents 392 games, and the ELO/game is a smaller size at 225. I simply didn't use to track it. This spans a couple of nerfs, so some hero results (ie: Patches) don't reflect today's meta.
Wins/Places by Hero
I've cut this a couple of ways, looking mainly at average & top 4 placements. Keep in mind, for each specific hero sample size is relatively low, so outliers will be rampant.
Key findings for me from this:

Largely this holds to expectations of most tier lists. 10 diff heros have 60% top 4 rates. Amalgam, Yogg, Brann (rip), Rafaam are all consistently landing high.

I was really bad at Nef, but my last 20 games with him at at 3.0 avg, and at my ELO the dude is a monster. People routinely forget to position against him & late game he's a free win.

Rafaam (at my ELO) is a win machine. 56% of my 25 games on him have had me in top 2.
Overall Points per Place
Following the expected distribution, my 1-7 placements are all almost exactly 13%. Better players def skew more to top 4, but alas, I'm a noob. I've included my avg points per level too. 7th & 8th are effectively the same punishment. This is slightly skewed by the patch that went live where 1st & 8th swings were bigger (~150 each), but the trend is obv consistent.
1st: 105 pts, 15% 2nd: 72 pts, 12% 3rd: 44pts, 14% 4th: 13pts, 12% 5th: -18pts, 13% 6th: -43pts, 15% 7th: -83pts, 11% 8th: -93pts, 8%
ELO Trend & Performance
Over the 240 sample where I have per game tracking (starting at 6k ELO), you can see my 1k downswing followed by the recent 2k upswing. RNG gods giveth & taketh.
