Hearthstone ladder rest targeted for end of the week. Wave of invites incoming?

After being delayed earlier this month, the second test season is possibly to start at the end of this week, say Blizzard. With its start, it's more than likely that the game welcomes a big surge of new players if Blizzard's previous posts are taken into account.

Initially, Test Season 2 was supposed to start on January 2nd and introduce a wipe on the ranked ladder. The day the season was to go live, Blizzard announced issues that prevent them from transitioning from one season to another were found and that the new season will be pushed back until said issues can be resolved. At the time, no specific date or time was given and it is only today that a word comes from the developers, mentioning the end of this week as the possible live-ing of the new season.

"We believe that we have identified and addressed all of the issues that were preventing us from properly transitioning to Test Season 2. Some more testing still needs to be performed, but we are currently targeting to transition to Test Season 2 by the end of this week."

These updates also bring back the question whether the start of the new season will come with a huge wave of beta invites. On December 19th, a blog post by Blizzard stated that everyone who has opted in for the beta through their Battle.net accounts by January 7th will be invited into the beta. Since this has not been the case, we've contacted Blizzard to learn if the wave of invites has been pushed back to align with the start of the new season.
