Former WPT winner Andy Frankenberger, and all-time women's money winner Kathy Liebert join Tom Schreiber as chip leaders after Day 1 of the World Poker Tour's World Poker Finals main event in Foxwoods. Frankenberger has 90,200 chips and is riding a high this year from winning his first WSOP bracelet this summer to bring his two year long tournament career to nearly $2 million in winnings.
Kathy “PokerKat” Liebert finished with 90,000. She has made five WPT final tables but she is still seeking her first WPT win.
There were 185 players who entered the main event. The day finished with 141 players with a chance at the WPT title.

Eric Seidel, Dwyte Pilgrim, Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy, Will Failla, Christian Harder, David Sands, Bernard Lee,
Hoyt Corkins and
Jason Mercier.
Those progressing to Day 2 with decent stacks included Seidel, Matt Matros, Jonathan Little, Steve Brecher, Lee Markholt, Tony Dunst and Jon Turner.
