The wait is almost over for Digimon fans who hoped for a big-budget game.
The long-awaited game from the Digimon Story series, Digimon Story Time Stranger, was officially announced by Bandai Namco during the PlayStation State of Play with a trailer. The announcement trailer also revealed a 2025 release window for the game.
Before the recently announced game, The last Digimon Story series game was released in 2017 with Digimon Stories: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory. Check out the announcement trailer from the State of Play below:
From the trailer and title itself, it can be assumed that players will not only travel to both the Digital World and the real world, but also through time, to train their Digimon companion and save the world from the apocalypse.
David Alonzo, brand manager of Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc., confirmed in a PlayStation blog that players will enter the Digital World and discover a new realm where Digimon can be seen running their own shops and homes, and living their own full Digi-lives.
David couldn't share much regarding the bond between the game's characters, but stated that their deep bonds can transcend through time. He also stated that fans can pick up some clues from the trailer.
This entry in the Digimon Story shows how that deep bond between characters can transcend worlds and time itself. We can’t reveal too much now but stay tuned to see how these bonds play out in both the story and in the gameplay where past and future, Digimon and humanity, and worlds collide.
Perhaps you’ll pick up some clues from the trailer?
Digimon Story Time Stranger is slated for a 2025 release window by Bandai Namco, and will be playable on PlayStation 5, Xbox series X and S, and PC.
