Black Shrew Esports fulfilled their vengeance on Fearless Esports HK after dropping them down to the lower bracket of the tournament in a jaw-dropping five-game clash. Previously, the Pacific Play-In winner defeated the Malaysia representative in the group stage with a 2-1 victory against them, taking the top seed spot from Black Shrew Esports.
When they wanted revenge, they looked focused on completing it, as they showed their signature disciplined playstyle against the Hong Kong team in their first two games in the knockout. MusangKing and Zhe, with Agudo and Dolia, led their siege into the Fearless Esports base in game one, while Zhe repeated his stellar performance in game two using Lian Po.
Fearless Esports, as their name stated, were unfazed going into the third and fourth games. They kept their composure, staying disciplined towards the rush of Black Shrew Esports. DaoDao countered the offence of BSE with a flurry from Han Xin's speed to control the Malaysian backline in game three and swirled through their defence using Musashi's agility in game four.
A hit-and-run tactic proved very effective against the Malaysian in games three and four, as two crucial victories forced them to the last game. However, Black Shrew Esports looked refreshed coming to game five. They forced their opponent into their signature flow of the game, choking the life of Fearless Esports, pressuring them until they made a mistake and ending them in one fell swoop.
Besides the thriller from BSE and Fearless, Nova Esports continued their journey in the lower bracket after winning their match against BOOM Esports. The Malaysian representative defeated their opponent with a 3-1 scoreline to progress into the lower bracket semi-final. XXX, once again, became the MVP of their match after a stunning performance against BOOM Esports.
On the other upper bracket matchup, Dominator Esports continued their dominating ways in the tournament with a perfect victory against Blacklist International. The Indonesia Qualifier champion outclassed their opponent, maintaining their perfect record as the only team not defeated in the tournament. The Indonesian team will have a hometown buff when they compete in knockout stage 2 on the bigger stage at Kemang Village.
The Honor of Kings Championship 2024 will resume on the 25th of October 2024 with two lower bracket series. The first series will pit Team Secret and Fearless Esports HK, while the second series will be a clash between Blacklist International and Nova Esports.
