Dominator Esports proved why they are the dominant team in Honor of Kings Championship Indonesia Qualifier by beating Kagendra 3-0 in the grand finals.
Dominator proved to be the ‘dominating’ team in the league. The team breezed through from the group stage to the upper bracket to the grand final with a 3-0 score against Kagendra. Not a single game was dropped by them starting from the start of the playoffs.
When people expected Kagendra to use the same strategy repeatedly, they flipped the script with a risky move, using Shangguan with three high-health heroes. The plan worked initially. Toshi couldn't expand his gameplay using Di Renjie.Â
However, That’s a different story for Zhe. With his Kaizer, the jungler can’t be touched by the other Kagendra players because of his high survivability. This led to the player carrying the team from his back and dragging his team to victory.
In the second game, Kagendra used almost the same draft but with a different kind of roamer in the form of Dolia and a more defensive midlane using Heino. To counter the changes, Zhe took Han Xin with a fighter approach. The damage spike enabled Dominator to take a more aggressive stance and surprised the Kagendra players. Zhe, again, became the crucial piece for the team to secure the victory.
Kagendra tried the Han Xin strategy in the third game with Dolia and Mayene. However, the plan backfired on them as Zhe proved to be the difference maker between them. Playing as Luna, the Malaysian danced on the Gorge, taking the players down individually. A misjudge of damage by Hanss and Wiraww opened an angle for Dominator to sweep Kagendra 3-0 and take home the first-ever Honor of Kings Indonesia trophy.
Dominator will lead the Indonesian representatives in the Honor of Kings Championship. Mahadewa and Kagendra will accompany them in bringing the trophy home to their country. Which team will lift the Honor of Kings Championship 2024 trophy will be seen when they clash in October 2024.
