Here’s a possible early look at the Nintendo Switch 2.
Early images from what appear to be 3D models of the Nintendo Switch 2 have surfaced online this week, displaying the console’s new Joy-Cons, screen size and interior circuit board. These images were first posted on a Chinese social media website called Xiaohongshu, only to later be reposted on Reddit. Gaming site VGC has corroborated that the images “match what the company has told partners to expect from its design”.
Early images of the Nintendo Switch 2 seemingly leak online
If you’re hungry for a sneak peek at the Nintendo Switch successor before its official reveal, you might just be in luck. Alleged 3D models of the Nintendo Switch 2 and its Joy-Con controllers have leaked online this week, thanks to a post on Reddit that spotted the images on a Chinese social media website. While the original post has been taken down, the images are now all over the Internet.
These images show off a handheld gaming console that looks very similar to the current-generation Nintendo Switch, with a few minor differences in functionality. Notably, its screen is noticeably larger and its Joy-Cons appear to come with magnets. Still, one must take these pictures with salt, as they appear to be sourced from a 3D modelling enthusiast. They could simply be conjured from rough descriptions of the console based on previous leaks.
However, one interesting image highlights the console’s printed circuit board (PCB), with a printed number that corroborates earlier leaked shipment details for Switch 2 parts. If nothing else, this means the PCB images alone might be real. However, it would still be outdated considering that these parts were meant for a prototype version of the console.
Nintendo has acknowledged the existence of the Nintendo Switch 2, but has not released further details on the console besides promising a full reveal before April 2025.
