Moze will be the game's first new 4-star since Gallagher, who was released way back in version 2.1.
Honkai: Star Rail has now revealed the full lineup of new characters being released in version 2.5 in September, with the 4-star character Moze also joining the fray. Moze will wield the Lightning element and follow the Path of the Hunt, making him the game's first character of that element-Path combo.
Moze works as a Shadow Guard of the Xianzhou Yaoqing, with his line of work primarily lying in assassinations. He is an expert in intelligence gathering and subterfuge, always silently acting on his own. Even as he casts a shadowy figure, Moze is not without his quirks, notably having an obsession with tidiness and cleanliness.
As a Hunt character, Moze will specialise in dishing out tons of single-target damage, as is befitting an assassin. While a 4-star won't be as strong as a 5-star, fans of this character can be optimistic about his strength when considering recent trends with 4-stars.
Two of the three most recent 4-star characters have notably carved a solid place in the metagame for themselves. Gallagher, released in version 2.1, has made a very good niche for himself as the best sustain option for the powerful Super Break team with Firefly. Xueyi, released back in version 1.6, has also emerged as a very good damage-dealer in the current Break meta.
Meanwhile, the version 2.0 4-star, Misha, also has a niche in Ice Break teams even if he isn't as valued as Gallagher or Xueyi in the current meta.
Prior to being revealed as an upcoming playable character, Moze has only appeared in short teasers for what's to come in the next couple of versions. As a Shadow Guard of the Xianzhou Yaoqing, he will likely be attending the Wardance Ceremony in the Xianzhou Luofu to provide security for the Yaoqing Arbiter-General Feixiao.
Moze will be voiced by Chris Niosi in the game's English dub, Sakata Shogo in the Japanese dub, Huang Jinze in the Chinese dub, and Choi Hyun-sik in the Korean dub.
Moze will be the third new character that will be released in Honkai: Star Rail version 2.5. Debuting alongside him will be the 5-star Wind Hunt character Feixiao and the 5-star Fire Abundance character Lingsha.
Honkai: Star Rail version 2.5 is expected to be released in early September. But before that comes version 2.4, which will see the release of three new characters: the 5-star Physical Destruction character Yunli, the 5-star Fire Nihility character Jiaoqiu, and a new Hunt version of the 4-star character March 7th.
