Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred unveils release date
Blizzard Entertainment’s first annual expansion for Diablo 4 will add a new region, character class and more story content to entice players back to Sanctuary. The opening cinematic looks just as horrifically grim as the main campaign, too. It follows Neyrelle, who returns for another adventure after helping to liberate Sanctuary from the villainous schemes of Lilith.
In the cinematic, we see Neyrelle travelling to Akarat’s Tomb with Mephisto’s soul stone in hand. As she passes through the River Gate on the way to the new region of Nahantu, she becomes influenced by the stone and is trapped in a grotesque vision. The vision sees her being tortured almost to the point of death in a bloody cavern located within a massive demon.
When she wakes up, she realises that her travelling companion has been killed, and her objective seems hopelessly out of reach still. According to Blizzard, Vessel of Hatred will introduce the Spiritborn - a new character class tied to the new region Nahantu. A full reveal of the new class is coming on July 18.
Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred launches on October 8, 2024. Check out more announcements and trailers from Xbox Games Showcase 2024 here.
