Shopify Rebellion is playing with stand-ins for PGL Wallachia but will have their finalized official roster starting DreamLeague Season 23.
Shopify Rebellion team took a (more than) disappointing 11-12th place finish at ESL One Birmingham, prompting the NA team to make a change in the roster shortly after. SR bid farewell to Thiago "Thiolicor" Cordeiro and then showed up to PGL Wallachia Season 1 with two stand-ins from Nigma Galaxy.
The group stage is still being played out and so far the team is hanging on for a playoff spot. But regardless of results, the organization has already announced they will head to DreamLeague Season 23 with their full roster, including their new position 5 player.
Andrei "skem" Ong, Fiipino player was playing with Geek Fam in SEA most recently. This will be his third stint with an NA team, previously having played for Cloud9 and before that compLexity Gaming. Fans might remember that it was during that time with Col, in 2018 he was banned from participation in Chongqing Major for making a racial slur in the chat before an official match versus RNG for DreamLeague Season 10 Minor.
Although that was six years ago, the internet doesn't forget (sorry).
DreamLeague Season 23 is set to begin on Monday, May 20th. It will be the last season in the ESL Pro Tour before Riyadh Masters set to take place in July.
