Argentinian esports organisation Leviatán steps into the Dota 2 scene.
Leviatán, not to be confused with the long forgotten Team Leviathan, is a new contender entering the Dota 2 professional scene via South America. The Argentinian organisation was founded only in 2020, but it has quickly established itself in VALORANT where it competes in the VCT LATAM, a similar circuit of the now defunct DPC.
While the newly introduced Dota 2 team of Leviatán is set to compete through the South American region, the roster announced features for now just four players. with only one of them being from SA.
Steven "StingeR" Vargas, former beastcoast captain is taking the leadership position at the new team and is joined by fellow players from North America, Western Europe and Southeast Asia.
In a pretty surprising move, Leviatán’s offlane player is Damien "kpii" Chok, who will now compete for the first time in nearly a decade of a professional career in a different region than SEA. Kpii is joining the Argentinian organisation after taking a break from competitive play for about half a year. He last competed under the Blacklist Rivalry banner in The International 2023 SEA regional qualifiers, where he fell short of a ticket to Seattle by losing the grand finals battle to Team SMG.
While the mid lane is the missing puzzle piece for Leviatán, the carry role is taken by Samuel "Sammyboy" Anderson and the position 4 support is covered by Tommy "Taiga" Le, who is also coming back from retirement.

There shouldn’t be too much of a wait before Leviatán’s mid laner is revealed, as the regional qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 22 are bound to begin this week on Friday for South America, followed by PGL Wallachia qualifier legs starting next week, on the 25th of the month.
