The first group stage has sent home eight teams, among them are big names such as Tundra, Team Liquid, Azure Ray, and Team Secret.
DreamLeague Season 22 kicked off with the first of two group stages on Sunday. Expected to take place over four days, things were pushed out an extra day when Group A required three tie-breaker matches to determine eliminations and seeding. Both Gaimin Gladiators and OG's event lives were on the line, but in the end, both made it through with OG coming out ahead after two series wins.
Big-name teams such as Tundra Esports, Team Liquid, Azure Ray, and Team Secret have already been sent packing. Fans might not be entirely surprised by Tundra's performance and results after their debacle concerning Ivan "MinD_ContRoL" Ivanov.

No doubt there are some concerns however about Team Liquid's run with the EU team finishing 7th in Group B tied for last with 1Win based on overall results.
Aside from the roster drama, a Rubick in the offlane, and a few tie-breaking matches, the first group stage was fairly uneventful.
The action resumes tomorrow, Friday, March 1st at 11:00 CET with the first matches for Groups A and B in Group Stage 2.
