Nigma Galaxy are ready to enter the 2024 competitive year with a revamped roster featuring returning legends joined by Malaysian player Ghost.
After ending the 2023 year by announcing a full overhaul of their Dota 2 team, Nigma Galaxy are now ready to kick off the new year without their longstanding position 4 support Maroun "GH" Merhej and with a new player replacing Ivan "MinD_ContRoL" Ivanov in the offlane.
While the team is not yet confirmed to have been invited to the closed qualifiers for the upcoming BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024, tournament, nor for DreamLeague Season 22, Nigma Galaxy announced today, January 5, that their coach Roman "rmN-" Paley is changing gears and returns to active play. He joins Nigma’s active roster in the support role, filling the void left behind by GH departure.
This is not the first time when rmN- has switched from coaching to active play for the Nigma line-up. He has done it before on several occasions through 2020 - 2023, however, back then he was just on a stand-in basis for ESL One Germany 2020 and a few games through the DPC leagues.
While rmN- has a fair shared history with his team, being their coach for the past five years, their new offlaner is at his first venture outside Southeast Asia and is also making a role swap to fill in some big shoes left behind by MinD_ContRoL’s departure after eight years with the team.
Daniel "Ghost" Chan arrives at Nigma Galaxy after playing in the carry role for Royal Never Give Up in 2022 and for Xtreme Gaming in 2023. He joins Nigma Galaxy’s offlane after taking a brief break. His last team was Xtreme Gaming, with whom he played through the 2023 Dota Pro Circuit in China andplaced second in the regional qualifiers for The International 2023. Since TI12, Ghost has only competed in the Asian Games with Team Malaysia, where he also played in the carry position.
