Entity have once again a full line-up after parting ways earlier this month with their mid lane and offlane players.
In what looks now like an Eastern European line-up, Entity enters the new competitive season with Volodymyr "No[o]ne-" Minenko and Dmitry "DM" Dorokhin taking on the empty slots left by Daniel "Stormstormer" Schoetzau and Kim "Gabbi" Santos departure from the mid and offlane respectively.
Entity roster
Alimzhan “Watson” Islambekov
Volodymyr “No[o]ne” Minenko
Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin
Vladislav “Kataomi`” Semenov
Dzmitry “Fishman” Palishchuk
This marks No[o]ne’s return to Europe after a brief stint with Team SMG in Southeast Asia. He joined SMG just before The International 2023 qualifiers and managed to claim the only SEA ticket to Seattle. However, SMG didn’t make it past the first phase of the group stage matches at TI12 and were eliminated in the bottom four.
Upon arriving at Entity, where he will be playing alongside two Russian players, No[o]ne took on social media to give a lengthy reasoning for his decision as the Ukrainian players are sanctioned by their country when choosing to work or play with Russian citizens or entities.
“I know the position of my teammates regarding the war and supporting the authorities in Russia. For me, this was a critical moment in making the decision to perform for Entity. Part of my family lives in Kherson. Believe me, I know and understand what they had to go through in the last year and a half.
My duty is to help my relatives and loved ones. To do this, I need to remain a tier-1 player, play at the highest level […]. I will donate part of my salary at Entity to the needs of the Armed Forces. I have been helping our fighters since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, and now I want to make that help even more significant" - Volodymyr "No[o]ne-" Minenko
Earlier this year, the TI10 and TI12 champions Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk and Myroslav "Mira" Kolpakov were among other banned players by the Ukrainian Esports Federation. Those who receive a ban will not be able to get permission to travel abroad during martial law to participate in tournaments. They are also prohibited from representing Ukraine in competitions and participating in championships under the auspices of the Ukraine Esports Federation.
Entity are set to play in the new formula next week, in regional qualifiers for ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023.
