DreamLeague Season 21; Teams, format, broadcasts, oh my!

All you need to know about DreamLeague Season 21 set to begin tomorrow, September 18th compiled in one place.

About six months ago DreamLeague and ESL introduced the Pro Tour. In the days leading up to Berlin Major, ESL brought together 16 top teams worldwide for a two-week battle of dominance. The winner received $300,000 of the $1,000,000 prize pool and a spot at the $15,000,000 Riyadh Masters event.

The Western European outfit then outplayed BetBoom Team in the grand finals of DreamLeague Season 20 to clinch their second DreamLeague title of the Dota 2 year, and their fourth consecutive premier tournament.

As it is the end of the season there is also no ticket to Riyadh Masters up for grabs or any other event for that matter. Besides the money, bragging rights and fine-tuning strategies are what participating teams will gain.

With the competition squeezed between TI regional qualifiers and the TI itself, this DreamLeague season will run for just a week, from September 18 to the 24th of the month with a compressed format compared to the previous editions held this year.

Two groups of six teams each
Single round-robin
All matches are Bo2
Top two teams from each group advance to the upper bracket of playoffs
3rd-4th place teams from each group advance to the lower bracket of playoffs
The remaining teams are eliminated

Playoffs: September 21 - September 24

Double-elimination bracket
All matches except Grand Final are Bo3
Grand Final is Bo5
