North America and Southeast Asia top seed teams won’t be a part of the playoffs action at Lima Major.
Group A at Lima Major is done and dusted, with no tiebreakers to be played and three teams heading back home after a lackluster performance through the five days battle for a spot in the playoffs.
Following EHOME’s elimination on day 4 of the group play, both Execration and TSM still had a chance at forcing tiebreakers and keep fighting for their lives in the tournament if they would have won their final series. Unfortunately for both of them, the last day of the group stage didn’t bring the much needed victories.
Execration, who came to Lima as SEA regional league winners, had a somewhat better run in the tournament than the other two teams from their group who are heading home early. They had five draw scores, tying their series with Tundra Esports, Gaimin Gladiators, Evil Geniuses, PSG.LGD and TSM and only losing to Team Spirit and Talon.
However, five draws were not enough to get them through the playoffs.
Unfortunately for the SA fans, the hometown hero, Enzo "Timado" Gianoli will not be able to step onto the Lima Major playoff stage, as TSM has also been eliminated in Group A.
TSM qualified for the Lima Major as the top seed from the NA regional league, but the heavily shuffled roster fumbled and struggled to find their stride when pitted against teams from other regions. TSM exit the Lima Major with 4 losses, 2 victories, and 2 draws.
