China’s top seed team is looking at a serious DPC point penalty at the Lima Major as they are forced to compete without their offlaner.
PSG.LGD announced in a Weibo post today that their position 3 player, Li "项羽" Longwu won’t be traveling with the team to Peru for the upcoming Lima Major due to visa issues. Ren "old eLeVeN" Yangwei, who is currently without a team will be standing in for PSG.LGD at the Major, but that will come with 40% Dota Pro Circuit points penalty.

According to the updated rules for the Winter Tour of the 2023 DPC, a team can use up to two stand-ins at the Major, but each substitute will incur 40% penalty on DPC points earned from that tournament. Unlike in the previous DPC season, this year, “if more than 2 subs are required for a team, that team will be considered forfeited,” the new rules state.
Lima Major is the first in the tree Major series scheduled for this year and it features the least DPC points, just 1,900. The points will be distributed among the top 8 teams at the Major, and for PSG.LGD , even a first-place finish won’t be enough to put them in a considerable lead in the DPC rankings.
