Faith_bian carries PSG.LGD to the PGL Arlington Major Grand Finals

As the conclusion of the PGL Arlington Major 2022 edges closer, PSG.LGD became the first team to secure a spot in the grand finals.

On the penultimate day of the PGL Arlington Major 2022, the upper bracket finals stage was set for an intense emerging rivalry between Team Spirit and PSG.LGD who went head-to-head to claim the first spot in the grand finals.

At TI10, these two teams were thoroughly tested with a five-game series in which Team Spirit emerged victorious to take home the Aegis of Champions.

They met up again last month at Riyadh Masters 2022 where PSG.LGD took a convincing 2:0 victory for the championship title.

PSG.LGDvsTeam Spirit

PSG.LGD took the first Phantom Assassin this event to change things up, and Team Spirit grabbed a Snapfire mid to get this series started. Team Spirit came out of the gate swinging with a 5:0 lead before LGD could land their first kill. But the Chinese titans weren't fazed at all. They pushed forward turning things into an all-out slugfest, trading blows and leads, keeping things relatively even before taking a sizeable lead. A spectacular performance by Zhang "Faith_bian" Ruida on Tibersaw and paired with Cheng "NothingToSay" Jin Xiang on Tiny was an effective combo that allowed LGD to maintain control and take the first game advantage.

In the second game of the series, Wang "Ame" Chunyu first picked his hero Faceless Void and Team Spirit didn't seem to have any answer or idea on how to deal with it. It created a lot of problems and forced them to play in a way they didn't want, allowing LGD to take the early lead and suffocate them. The global presence by Faith_bian and amazing rotations put LGD on another level and demonstrate the depth of their synergy. Once Alexander "TORONTOTOKYO" Khertek got his Aghanim's Scepter Team Spirit started moving on the kills and trying to turn the game around, but it wasn't enough to overpower Faith_bian, LGD's team fight execution and chemistry. The Chinese team took the second game and series win.

PSG.LGD heads to the grand finals scheduled tomorrow, August 14th at 21:00 CEST.

Team Spirit drops to the lower brackets to face off against the OGvsTeam Aster winner for another shot at a slot in the grand finals for a chance to exact their revenge.
