TI10 Champions, Team Spirit ended the Dota Pro Circuit Winter Tour dropping just a single series through the league play and Regional Finals bracket.
There was no holding back or slowing down from The International 10 champions in the beginning of the new DPC year. Through the six-week league play of the Winter Tour, the CIS juggernauts lost a single game, against NAVI on week four of the regional league, but took the series 2-1.
However, in the opening series of the Regional Finals, they got knocked down to the lower bracket by HellRaisers and had to fight for a spot in the grand finals through elimination matches. On their quest to bounce back, they took their revenge over HR, in the lower bracket finals and made quick work of Virtus.pro in the grand finals.
Team Spirit took the spoils in what was the most dominant grand finals of all regional finals so far. Besides the first 10 minutes of game one of the best-of-five, which featured continuous action with a total of 16 kills being traded between VP and Spirit, the latter were indestructible.
Game two brought a situation very rarely seen in high tier professional Dota. Around the 35-minute mark Virtus.pro managed to die back on all five heroes trying to defend a tier two tower.
That was VP’s obvious downfall and last drop of hope. After losing game two, they called out the GG in game three only 17 in, when they were already led by Spirit 19 to 3 in kill score.
