beastcoast are the champions of the South American DPC Regional Finals

beastcoast comfortably defeated Infamous 3-0 to take first place in the South American DPC Regional Finals.

It was a stroll in the park for beastcoast team as they claimed the plaudits in the South American DPC Regional Finals by taking down Infamous 3-0 in the grand finals. The South American powerhouse did not drop a single series in their run to the title and only dropped one game against Thunder Awaken in the upper bracket final. beastcoast take home $50,000, but more importantly, begin their journey for a direct invite to TI11 with 250 DPC points.

beastcoast didn’t finish the DPC Winter Tour Division I League in pole position. That honor fell to Thunder Awaken (previously Thunder Predator). But through the years, this set of players has garnered so much experience in the South American Dota 2 scene, that when the time came, they were able to step up their game and take it to the next level when it mattered. Thunder Awaken did give them a tough fight in the upper bracket final, but fell 0-2 to Infamous in the lower bracket final.

The grand final was a repeat of the first round matchup between beastcoast and Infamous, which beastcoast had won 2-0. The first game of the grand finals was a stomp, with beastcoast’s Phantom Lancer wreaking havoc on Thunder Awaken. The game ended in just over 24 minutes.

Game 2 was a much tougher contest, and Infamous had a 19,000 gold advantage at the 49 minute mark, with both teams having lost a set of barracks. But the position 1 Templar Assassin was always going to fall off, and even though they had answers for the PL in game 2, once he was six slotted, they couldn’t deal with him. One good fight for beastcoast ended with a gold swing of 12,000, and they finished the job in the next 10 minutes.

After snatching game 2 from a losing position, beastcoast’s confidence soared and they took game 3 quite comfortably just before the half hour mark. The game was even until just before the 20 minute, but once beastcoast’s cores hit their timings, it snowballed out of control, with Infamous having nothing to stop the snowball.

Even though Infamous had to settle for second, they don’t go home empty handed. They take home $25,000 and 130 DPC points, and the hope that they can challenge the best in the region in the next DPC Season.
