TI10 Champions will walk home with over 18M dollars, prize pool distribution announced

Six days before The International 10 is set to begin, Valve announced the prize pool distribution.

Thanks to the community contribution via the annual TI compendium, The International 10 is once again a record-breaking esports tournament with its mesmerizing $40,018,195 total prize pool about 5.5M dollars more than the previous edition, held in 2019. 

On October 17, 2021, at the end of the TI10 grand finals, the winning team will secure 45% of the total prize pool, which this year nets $18,208,300 while the runner up team will head home with $5,202,400.

The International 10 prize pool distribution:

1st place: $18,208,300 (45.5%)  
2nd place: $5,202,400 (13%)  
3rd place: $3,601,600 (9%)     
4th place: $2,401,100 (6%)     
5th/6th place: $1,400,600 (3.5%)
7th-8th place: $1,000,500 (2.5%)          
9th-12th place: $800,400 (2%)  
13th-16th place: $600,300 (1.5%)        
17th-18th place: $100,000 (0.25%)

The International 10 will unfold October 7-17 in Bucharest, Romania.  The group stage matches will be held behind closed doors from 7th to 10th of October. The event is expected to open to the public beginning October 12, with the first day of the playoffs stage. The action will take place at the National Arena from Bucharest, Romania, with tickets available for purchase in three separate two-day bundles at theinternational2021.entertix.ro.
