Neon Esports will finish playing group stage with Yang "Deth" Wu Heng as Rafael "Rappy" Sicat Palo unable to continue competing due to contact with COVID.
Neon Esports stunned the world in their DPC 2021 Season 1 regional league play. They delivered some of the biggest upsets and went undefeated for five weeks. Fans around the world couldn't wait to see them in action against the biggest international teams.
Then the news hit that John Anthony "Natsumi-" Vargas was 'unfit' for travel and former Neon Esports offlaner Rafael "Rappy" Sicat Palo would step in to help the team.
Now they are taking another hit.
The stand-in will now need a stand-in.
Due to COVID contact Rappy can no longer compete with the team and will need to isolate. He has had four negative tests up to the point of competition and it is unknown if he is or will become infected with the virus. If he does contract COVID-19 then the rest of the team will be at risk —not to mention Yang "Deth" Wu Heng who will be the new stand-in.
