Hellbear Smashers withdrew from Epic League Season 3 just ahead of their first series in the second division of the tournament.
Fresh back to back champions of Snow Sweet Snow and with promotion assured for the second season of Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Europe League, Hellbear Smashers decided to withdraw from EPIC League Season 3 after failing to clinch a spot in the upper division. Their 2-3 overall series score in the tournament group stage, where they got bested by Vikin.gg, Wintrike and Brame, pushed them in the bottom eight of the final standings and opened only a secondary division run for them.
Ahead of their first series in the $15,000 Division 2 leg, scheduled to take place today, March 15, the tournament organizers announced Hellbear Smashers’ withdrawal. “The reasons for this decision are not reported,” stated Epic Esports Events.
Misery and Ace relapse
This marks the second time Rasmus “Misery” Filipsen and Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard sign up for an Epic League tourney and drop out during the tournament.
In the second season they played qualifiers matches under the 5MEN tag and much like this time around, they landed in the second division. Mid group stage run of EPIC League Season 2, 5MEN decided to disband, thus they forfeited their spot in the event.
