Mineski had a quality showing in the waning days of ESL One Mumbai, but TNC Predator and The Pango were not so lucky.
Any potential for upsets through the remainder of the event seem unlikely. Spectators of ESL One Mumbai witnessed a few surprises early in the tournament. However, as the tournament progressed things have gone as most would have predicted. It’s not farfetched to see the top four teams being TNC Predator, Keen Gaming, Na’Vi and Mineski.
On the back of a victory over compLexity Gaming, The Pango encountered a formidable opponent in eighth DPC ranked Keen Gaming. Both teams displayed inconsistencies as the series featured stomps going each way. Ultimately, Keen Gaming exuded the quality of play which has made them successful in the current DPC season. The win set up a matchup against TNC Predator which would be played later in the day.
Before returning to the lower bracket, it was time to determine ESL One Mumbai’s first Grand Finalist. Na’Vi and Mineski are two teams that have struggled in the DPC season. Neither team has mustered enough points to enter the conversation of teams likely to qualify for The International. A win at ESL One Mumbai may just provide the spark required to propel one of these teams to a strong finish in the DPC. Na’Vi put forth a valiant effort to pull out a victory in game two to bring the series to a full three games. Nevertheless, Mineski appeared to be a step ahead of the CIS team and this was apparent in game three as Na’Vi was shellacked.
Keen Gaming started the day victorious. When confronted by TNC Predator, this is also how they’d finish. TNC Predator looked out of sorts from the get-go. Keen Gaming held a commanding presence in both games. Game one proved to be more competitive, but an even net worth throughout the entirety of the struggle was advantageous for a late game focused draft from Keen Gaming. TNC Predator was eliminated after two games.
The melee will continue tomorrow, at 8:00 CEST, with the Lower Bracket Finals followed soon after by the Grand Finals.
