ViCi Gaming, PSG.LGD and Keen Gaming staked their claim on spots for MDL Disneyland Major to represent China next month.
For the first time in history, MarsMedia will be sponsoring a LAN event outside of China. To represent the hosting organization region, three teams will be on hand in Disneyland.
All three teams had taken top seed in the group stage. Keen Gaming had upset ViCi Gaming in a 2:0 sweep to knock down the Minor/Major championship team to the lower brackets and to secure the first qualifying spot. PSG.LGD also swept through their opponents, Newbee, for the second spot.
Relegated to the lower brackets, ViCi Gaming then went through the trenches undefeated to secure the last spot.
It is little surprise to see that all three teams are the best China has to offer right now.
ViCi Gaming is in 3rd place in the DPC rankings and have already secured their place at TI9. PSG.LGD is in 6th place, well within the reach of securing a place at TI, and Keen Gaming isn't far behind them in 8th place. Top 12 teams when the season is over will be qualified for TI9.
From May 4th to May 12th, 16 of the best teams will battle it out at Disney’s Newport Bay Club and Disney® Events Arena which has a seating capacity of 6,300. As the fourth Major of the DPC 2018-2019 season, teams will be competing for the lion's share of the $1,000,000 prize pool and 15,000 DPC points.
