Just a day after reports surfaced that Gambit had withdrawn from ESL One Mumbai 2019 qualifiers, the team announced their direct invitation.
Originally the EU/CIS qualifiers for ESL One Mumbai 2019 had Alliance, Na'Vi, Gambit Esports and Elements Pro Gaming listed as the four teams to be locking horns for the one regional spot at the main event.
Alliance, who was slated to be competing had just accepted a direct invite only a few days ago joining Ninjas in Pyjamas in the main event, freeing up one spot for another hopeful team.
Yesterday, reports indicated that Na'Vi had withdrawn from the event qualifiers due to a packed schedule and Gambit had also dropped from the regional affair.
Now, it has been brought to light that the impressive and rising CIS stars have instead accepted a direct invitation to the main event in India. Gambit took a remarkable second place finish at ESL One Katowice 2019, falling the grand finals to the #1 team in the world right now, Team Secret.
Since December, Gambit's record has been littered with podium finishes in qualifiers and events alike.
ESL One Mumbai 2019 EU/CIS qualifiers will kick off tomorrow, February 27th at 17:00 CET, featuring Elements Pro Gaming, The Pango and two more CIS teams - The Mahoney Squad and Team Jekich.
