Team Liquid has reigned supreme at MDL Macau 2019 to become the first Grand Finalists while EG and VP will battle for the second spot.
The premier LAN event held in China featuring five local teams is now an all Western battle for the championship title.
With elimination on the line, all of the lower bracket series were pushed to full three-game campaigns. After Newbee eliminated RNG in a reverse sweep, they went on to face the CIS powerhouse team, Virtus.pro, who had yielded one game to ViCi Gaming. The TI7 runners up caught a lucky break, replacing PSG.LGD at the last minute and had given their all to make the most of it. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough as their only win was flanked by two heavily one-sided performances by Virtus.pro.
Meanwhile, in the upper brackets, Team Liquid had a clean 2:0 sweep over Evil Geniuses, crushing them in the first match and overpowering them in the second.
The action will resume tomorrow, February 24th with the lower bracket finals between EG and VP at 06:00 CET. The winner will then take on Team Liquid in the best-of-five grand finals.
