Keen Gaming's new roster steps up their game adding eLeVeN and Kaka to the lineup for the DPC 2018-2019 season.
The DPC 2017-2018 season started out with a promising look for Keen Gaming as they clinched the qualifying spot for ESL One Hamburg 2017 and narrowly missed taking places at the next few major events. At ESL One Hamburg they took 5-6th place but then started to struggle over the course of the next few months, until February when they finally landed another opportunity by seizing a place at DAC. Ultimately they took 15-16th at the event and never really seemed to find much else to write home about. In the end, the team had not been able to gain momentum or generate any buzz.
Announced via their weibo page Keen Gaming have taken things up a notch and pulled together one of most notable free agents, Hu 'Kaka' Liangzhi, and secured a loan from EHOME - Ren 'eLeVeN' Yangwei, who was most recently playing for Vici Gaming via loan as well. Kaka made the announcement of his departure from Newbee just a few days ago in a post on his weibo account.
Following is a translation of his post (translated from Chinese):
With the addition of these two veteran players, the organization seems to be hoping that they will be able to mentor and guide the three newer generation players, while still maintaining a balance of fresh ideas and new ways of thinking. Despite Kaka's experience it will be Song 'dark' Runxi who will be the captain who has been part of the organization for one year now.
