EPICENTER XL Major has announced a new qualifier event for any and all teams to participate in.
Epic Esports Events are celebrating Moscow's first Dota 2 Major in style with various unique and fun experiences giving new opportunities to eager participants. Two weeks ago they announced a call for all casters, giving up-and-coming broadcasters a chance to become part of the event in their casting contest.
Now, EPICENTER XL will be hosting a one-of-a-kind qualifier that is open to all teams from any region and any competitive level. The madness qualifier will be a fully best-of-one qualifier open for up to 256 teams from around the world to participate in on March 24th. The team left standing at the end will be awarded a spot in the big event.
EPICENTER XL Moscow will also be the first-ever Russian-hosted esports tournament to hold Major status. The playoffs are scheduled for Moscow’s VTB Ice Palace sports arena on May 4–6th with 12 teams competing for the lion's share of the $1,000,000 prize pool and 1500 TI8 qualifying points.
Already invited to the event is two-time defending champions - Team Liquid and local CIS leaders Virtus.pro. This weekend the last of the open qualifiers for each of the six designated regions is taking place and will be followed by the regional qualifiers for each in the upcoming weeks.
