Yesterday we saw what was to be the final line-up for MDL Macau be confirmed, but there was a surprise in the mix.
After BTS surprisingly announced a 9th team to join in at The Summit, MDL have done something along the same lines but for vastly different reasons. EHOME, one of the oldest Dota 2 teams to come out of China were confirmed as the 9th team to contest the upcoming minor. The reason for the direct invite comes on the back of the team being disallowed from partaking in the MDL Macau qualifiers due to a third party – and after they had a long back-and-forth with Valve, it was agreed that a direct invite was deserved. The official statement was released via the Mars Media Facebook page.
While EHOME have not been at the top of their form in the recent tournaments, this Minor gives them a huge chance to prove that they are still a force to be reckoned with – and deserve direct invites to more tournaments. With a home advantage, EHOME have a great chance to return to the top and claim some much needed Dota 2 Pro Circuit Points.
