CDEC.A takes the first Chinese open qualifier slot in the Shanghai Major qualifiers after their 2-0 victory against EHOME.K.
The victor for the first round of Chinese open qualifiers has been decided after a 2-0 victory over EHOME.K by CDEC.A. CDEC.A will compete against the winner of the second open qualifier and eight other invited teams in the Shanghai Major qualifiers for a spot at the main event in March.
Game one
In this game - which took an hour - CDEC.A started on a good note, securing two kills after a skirmish for the bounty rune. This good start was quickly eroded as EHOME.K was able to put pressure on CDEC.A's Ember via an agro trilane and CDEC.A's Alch via a mid Viper. This allowed thing to go smoothly for EHOME.K until they attempted to breach the high ground around 20 minutes; despite Nature Prophet's 10-0 streak at the time and their heroes being extremely farmed, EHOME.K was still unable to breach high ground due to the nature of CDEC.A's lineup. Following this was a string of failed high ground attempts until the 50 minute mark - this was the point EHOME.K was able to take two sets of raxes. However, this proved insufficient against the Ember with double Battlefury, a Daedelus and a Rapier and CDEC.A was able to retaliate by taking a set of barracks. One bad Rosh pit fight for EHOME.K later, CDEC.A rushed down mid and destroyed EHOME.K's throne.
Game two
Knowing that they might not be as lucky as last game, CDEC.A stepped it up and secured themselves a relatively quick and solid victory. Despite drafting a Medusa, CDEC.A managed to secure an early game lead, getting kills on their Windrunner and Doom. As the mid game arrived, the experience and gold coming from the earlier kills allowed Doom and Windrunner to snowball - creating space for the Medusa to farm. The minutes ticked by and CDEC.A's Medusa came online, easily securing the game and a spot in the qualifiers for the Shanghai Major for CDEC.A.
