Zhou speaks about his time on iG: 'It's ChuaN or you'

Zhou revealed some stories on his stream about his time on iG and DK's under whelming performance in TI4, he touches on what happened during the time he was kicked from the team among other things.

On Chen 'Zhou' Yao's stream, he talked about some past happenings on his time on IG and his eventual fallout with the team. He also mentions his ideas on why DK under performed at TI4 and the reaction of the Chinese progamers to TI1's prize pool.

Zhou has observed that Wong 'ChuaN' Hock Chuan has matured over the years from his time in IG in TI2, citing an example during TI2 where IG went 7-0 in the group stages and then lost to EHOME's Tiny-Io combo resulting in ChuaN raging at everyone on the team and not talking to the teams till the group stage ended. However, when they got into the finals of TI2 and lost a game against Na'Vi, ChuaN did not rage at the team but comforted the team instead, resulting in team chemistry improving, allowing them to take down Na'Vi.

Talking about his departure from iG, Zhou said that he lost motivation after winning TI2 and that his conflict with ChuaN started after breaking their win streak after a loss to Tongfu, causing ChuaN to rage at Zhou. From that time on, discussions within the team stopped happening. This escalated post-TI3 where after returning to Malaysia, ChuaN decided not to return until Zhou was kicked from the team. IG proceeded with a vote that ended in ChuaN staying, however ChuaN was told by his manager, Efeng, that the he did not need to return and was kicked by the team.

Moving on, Zhou also talked about the financial side of iG, the pay of the team was around $1,290 per month and $1,600 for the captain (Zhou at the time); Zhou was unhappy with this and requested everyone on the team be paid $1,450 per month, it is not known whether the change was implemented.

On the topic of Zhou's conflict with iG's manager in the past, it stemmed from the manager making the team do a lot of commercial activities with little pay causing Zhou to start speaking with the sponsors directly, getting a higher pay but causing the manager to lose out on his cut.

Besides talking about his time on iG, Zhou also revealed some behind the scenes information about the Chinese scene like how everyone except for Ferrari_430 thought TI1's prize pool was a scam and Tyloo spending two minutes in base figuring out how to build a Mekanism in TI1. He also said that DK's under whelming performance at TI4 was probably due to them having spent all their energy training; having trained with teams ten hours a day for an extended period of time.
