The second day of The International 3 is now live and we will be loading this news page with photos, video interviews and live updates from games. Ning, Tjernobylbarnet, and Dopeshow will be at the venue the whole day.
Tjernobyl, 00:41 - The Tobi-interview will be up first thing tomorrow, it's about 25 minutes long or something. See ya tomorrow.
ReiNNNN, 00:33 - The game is back and forth with iceiceice being a little more aggressive. After he bought his Blademail, he dived the tower for Mushi and activated his Blademail at the right time. Mushi went invisibile but iceiceice made a blind Timberchain and killed Mushi. Mushi called gg.
ReiNNNN, 00:17 - Game two begins. Second game is Timbersaw. Mushi is maxing Reactive Armor while iceiceice goes for Timberchain.
ReiNNNN, 00:12 - Once again, iceiceice outplayed Mushi as Mushi got overaggressive. iceiceice survived with 3 hp, mostly attributed to a great phase shift to dodge both the orb and Warning Rift.
ReiNNNN, 00:05 - Huge turn of event in the first game. Mushi, with his big level and gold advantage dived iceiceice but because iceiceice maxed Warning Rift, he was able to stop Mushi from doing anything. Mushi ended up dying to the tower.
ReiNNNN, 00:00 - Mushi sniped iceiceice's courier at 2 minutes. iceiceice is in bad shape!
ReiNNNN, 23:55 - Mushi vs iceiceice. First game will be Puck!
Tjernobyl, 23:50 - After finishing the interview with Tobi (he gave a great interview, great guy this Tobi), I quickly ran down to the mouz booth because Liquid just won and I knew for a fact that Madmortigan would be there. For those of you who doesn't know Madmortigan, he was essentially the first caster of Dota. At this time, Tobi was doing audiocasts only and the only way to watch a game was to watch it through GarenaTV or WaaaghTV. But Madmortigan thought it'd be a good idea to start casting on justin.tv, where people could see both the video and hear the audio without having to control anything themselves. He was often seen casting with Tobi, syndereN, Blitz and Mandurang. This guy was casting all the NA-scene games and a lot of the big EU games, such an important person in the history of Dota. And I just met him, it was a great moment, we used to co-operate a lot during the Dota1 days. Also met up with the first competitive Batrider player Taku, also a really great guy. Will be a great memory.
ReiNNNN, 23:33 - Starting the fight in the Radiant jungle, iG chases Zenith all the way till their base and kill them there as well. Zenith's bottom melee barracks quickly follows.
ReiNNNN, 23:25 - If you missed some of our interviews from today, here they are.
ReiNNNN, 23:22 - Despite chaining off a good AOE combo, Zenith lost a few while iG escaped. Some great Armlet toggle by Lifestealer to keep himself alive from two heroes chasing him.
ReiNNNN, 23:16 - That was quick. iG pulled off a nice combo and took down three of iG including the Aegis.
ReiNNNN, 23:16 - iG traded the Roshan to pick up two kills. Well, one technically but Zenith overextended and Slark died.
ReiNNNN, 23:11 - The problem with Zenith is, they have to take four to five heroes to even stir something up. When that happens, there are always one or two iG heroes farming on the other side of the map and that's losing the Singaporeans the game.
ReiNNNN, 23:04 - It all looks good in Zenith's attempt to defend the top tower but all they killed was the Rubick. The rest ran away.
ReiNNNN, 22:58 - First Blood goes to Zenith! With Jakiro's assistance, Weaver chased Lifestealer down the tower and kills him.
ReiNNNN, 22:54 - Zenith versus iG begins. Naga solo mid next level strat?
ReiNNNN, 22:30 - After winning another fight, Liquid went straight for the throne and while LGD.cn tried their best to stop the Americans from throning, their effort was futile. LGD.cn eliminated from the tournament.
Silverbret614, 22:22- LGD.cn managed to steal the Aegis from Liquid, but the home team would not be denied as they proceed to pop the Aegis and wipe LGD.cn on the spot
Silverbret614, 22:18- There is a Relic on Korok at the moment. Are we looking at a Rapier-Aegis Gyrocopter ?
Silverbret614, 22:16- LGD.cn successfully defended their mid tier 3 tower with a good RP from Yao
Silverbret614, 22:14- Bulba threw another hook and found Sylar inside the trees. As tanky as he was, Sylar still went down to the focus fire from Liquid
Silverbret614, 22:11- Second Roshan claimed by Liquid.
Silverbret614, 22:07- TC got picked off as LGD.cn spent an RP just for him.
Silverbret614, 22:00- LGD.cn gave up the Aegis, realizing they were not in a position to engage Liquid in a full 5-on-5 fight
Silverbret614, 21:55- Suddenly Liquid got a big breakthrough, killing off xiao8 and Sylar thanks to Bulba's great hook and Sylar's over-extension
Silverbret614, 21:53- Liquid is slowing down after the initial aggression. They have been looking at LGD.cn's mid tier 1 tower for a while now
Silverbret614, 21:45- Huge play by Liquid, killing off both Sylar and Yao
Silverbret614, 21:42- Liquid pushed down the top tier 1 tower and found a kill on xiao8's Prophet.
ReiNNNN, 21:38 - Bad start for Team Liquid as their offensive trilane fall apart. Nature's Prophet teleported in to help out with the kill.
ReiNNNN, 21:37 - Here's the draft for LGD.cn versus Liquid. Xiao8 is playing off-lane Nature's Prophet
Silverbret614, 21:13- Nothing left in the tank for VP as Illidan got picked off without buyback. NS called the "gg" and VP is out of TI3
Tjernobyl, 21:08 - Spoke to XBOCT of Na`Vi briefly, asked him which team they rather face of TongFu and DK. He quickly responded DK because they are easy to beat, he said they lane poorly and are predictable whereas TongFu are more unpredictable and harder to prepare against. They can pull more surprises.
Silverbret614, 21:06- Second time's the charm. Zenith pushed down VP's bottom barracks on their second try
Silverbret614, 21:04- Zenith's first big attempt at rax got fended off by Virtus.Pro
Silverbret614, 21:00- Zenith claimed Roshan after a messy teamfight in mid lane
Silverbret614, 20:58- Beautiful play by Ars-Art, stealing Mirror Image to dodge the Naga's Net then survived the Sunstrike and returned to base safely
Silverbret614, 20:54- iceiceice turned around a 2-man gank, killing of Rubick and tp-ed home before landing another Sunstrike to finish off the QoP
Silverbret614, 20:50- Nearly perfect maneuver by ksI, hooking away with less than 10% HP. However, iceiceice says "Not today!" and landed a wicked Sunstrike
ReiNNNN, 20:45 - Action all over the map. All of Zenith's heroes fall at the same time. Gyro picked off the Rubick and barely made it out in time.
Silverbret614, 20:40- Yamateh farming way too far out and got screamed in the face
ReiNNNN, 20:39 - Iceiceice sees a 3-man gank, Iceiceice kills Rubick before walking away.
ReiNNNN, 20:33 - And he First Blood NS with the Sunstrike!
ReiNNNN, 20:32 - YOLO, says iceiceice
Silverbret614, 20:23- Zenith vs Virtus.Pro underway! Will we see pocket strat coming out from either team ?
ReiNNNN, 20:01 - MUFC finally tapped out after what seems to be a carnage. MUFC is 0-15 in The International 3.
ReiNNNN, 19:58 - 21-3 in favour of Liquid at 21 minutes. All of MUFC towers are down as well.
Silverbret614, 19:49 - Nice bait by MUFC netted them the kill on Korok, but all it took was a quick buyback for him to come back and wipe the Malaysians.
ReiNNNN, 19:47 - Good try MUFC but this is really going down south. Evident by my Malaysian friend going out to buy lunch now because it is a "waste of time". It is 13 minutes in and Korok is already on mega-kill.
Silverbret614, 19:38 - Liquid found a wandering Rubick and quickly picked him off. First blood when to ixmike88
Silverbret614, 19:35- Ominiknight for MUFC and Ursa for Team Liquid!
Silverbret614, 19:24 - Game 1 of MUFC vs Team Liquid is up! Will MUFC get their first win here, where it matters most ?
Silverbret614, 19:05 - Coming up next is MUFC vs Team Liquid, loser goes home. Who are you rooting for ?
Silverbret614, 18:55- DK confidently walked up to high ground and went to town after spending the RP on YYF alone. Buybacks were coming out from iG, but the odds were too much to overcome. DK took game 3 in just a little bit more than 30 minutes.
Silverbret614, 18:49 - DK went in to contest the 2nd Aegis. They found and killed YYF before iG could react. Super pulled off another great RP and the Aegis went to Burning.
Silverbret614, 18:47 - A big fight broke out in front of iG's mid tier 1 as Super found 3 with his RP. DK wiped iG and pushed down the tower, but Burning and rotK paid their lives for that
Silverbret614, 18:43 - Radiance is now online for Spectre
Silverbret614, 18:37 - Kill score is now 9-3 in favor of DK. iG managed to claim an uncontested Roshan and a tier 2 tower
Silverbret614, 18:28 - iG grouped up to push mid, but Super punished them with a 3-man RP that sent them back to the fountain the hard way.
Silverbret614, 18:22 - iG claimed first blood after a very aggressive dive from DK
Silverbret614, 18:16 - Game 3 is underway. Draft will be up soon!
Tjernobyl, 18:14 - The crowd definitely made that game. At first they were going "boo" at all the defensive play and falling black, but they got used to it and starting cheering for things instead. They were cheering for every item getting picked up and for every Ancient getting killed. Obviously Roshans were the big highlights where the audience were screaming "ROOSHAN!" and doing the count down for him spawning. You can imagine when there actually was a fight, it was undescribable.
Tjernobyl, 18:10 - Meanwhile, the line for the signing table is huuuuuge. Why? Dendi showed up. As simple as that, I got his digital sign though, booyeah. SyndereN was a bit defeated by the fact that the record of the longest game previously held by mouz now is beaten. Although he called it quite a bit before it happened. He said that DK should have given some farm to rOtk's Enigma so he could build a Linken instead of having BurNing pocketing all the farm. The bear just went down anyway in a few fragments of a second.
Also spoke to Wei, a reporter from a Chinese site, I asked him if it's a problem whether or not China doesn't have that many tournaments ongoing. He said the problem rather lies in that China are isolated and basically only plays vs other Chinese teams. There are no real circulation of perspectives and ideas, whereas the western scene has the entire Europe playing against the entire North America plus some of South America. And the situation is even worse in SEA who also are isolated but on top of that suffer from a lack of a healthy scene.
Drouks, 18:08 - They have done it! Invictus Gaming turn the game around and win the longest game in the history of competitive DotA 2!
Drouks, 18:05 - DK catch Faith off-guard, picking him off in seconds. Capitalizing on the situation, they attempt to destroy the Radiant Ancient. Invictus Gaming say NO, as they destroy DK under the tier-four towers, and they now rush for the Dire Ancient themselves!
Drouks, 17:55 - With no buyback on BurNing, iG gets inside Dire's base to get their first set of barracks, the top set to be exact! This game can go either way now, and the victory goes to the team that makes the least mistakes.
Drouks, 17:53 - Invictus Gaming just won't give up! Zhou mans up and enters the chaos, destroying the Spirit Bear and BurNing to get back the Divine Rapier! A full teamwhipe for DK, losing the momentum they had gained from the previous fight.
Drouks, 17:51 - DK go for another Roshan kill, but iG ambush them in the way! BurNing is immediately picked off, giving time to IG to snap the Aegis before he re-enters the fight. However, BurNing comes back just in time, destroying Zhou twice for the Divine Rapier.
Drouks, 17:45 - The game is slowly reaching the time-record for the longest game of The International, and Ayesee attempts to entertain the poor viewers by chanting the feats of the brave Chinese players that slay Ancient Dragons and Golems...and stuff.
Drouks, 17:30 - As DK enters the Radiant base, Zhou 3-shots the bear! This intimidates BurNing, extending the farm festival even longer, as the spectators decide to start massively disliking the game.
Drouks, 17:29 - The crowd goes wild as Zhou purchases a Divine Rapier. It's now or never amigos!
Drouks, 17:27 - Another fight surrounding a Roshan attempt! IG manage to take down burning, losing two in return! Burning immediately buys back.
Drouks, 17:26 - Over 2500 innocent creeps have been slaughtered in this game, a number that keeps going up each second.
Drouks, 17:18 - And the first set of barracks is down! This long game might be coming to an end, as DK destroy the middle barracks and take down Ferrari in the process, losing rOtk in return.
Drouks, 17:16 - Zhou and Faith steal the Aegis, but they both die in the process! DK march to the Radiant base!
Drouks, 17:15 - IG attempt to disrupt DK's Roshan raid, and get destroyed in the process for a 4-1 fight! DK force out two buybacks and enter the Roshan pit!
Drouks, 17:07 - Did I just smell some action? A two-man Black Hole by rOtk catches Zhou and Faith off-guard, giving two more kills to DK! Could this be the breakthrough they've been looking for?
Drouks, 17:02 - We are close to 45 minutes, and the squads still seem hesitant - DK grabs another easy Roshan - YYF's score is 0-1-0, 45 minutes into the game!
Drouks, 16:58 - The two sides continue to build their inventories, but the score is static - nobody is willing to risk a crucial loss at this point.
Drouks, 16:50 - With Scythe of Vise up on Ferrari, iG look ready to fight! However, their Smoke of Deceit do not expose DK that easily.
Drouks, 16:40 - Two more kills are added in DK's collection, along with Roshan. Zhou and Vengeful Spirit succumbing to DK's massive roaming. Timer : 22.40
Drouks, 16:38 - IG decide not to fall for DK's continuous taunting, and refuse to start teaming up. No matter how helpful this is for their inventory, DK controls the majority of the map right now, with a score of 3-7.
Drouks, 16:25 - DK's answer is fast and deadly - The score is now 4-2 in favor of DK, with the last victim being YYF who slipped and fell into a Black Hole.
Drouks, 16:22 - The first blood is drawn, 5 minutes into the game - Chuan traps burning in the trees to finish him off with Riptide, but ends up dying to tower a few miliseconds later.
Tjernobyl, 16:11 - The whole LGD squad (Chinese one) is sitting down in the hallway outside their balcony entrance and semi-shouting at each other. They were not pleased at all with the performance vs Alliance, it seems.
Drouks, 16:07 - The drafts for the second game are underway! The defending Champions bring up the big guns with Outworld Devourer, and DK immediately answer with Razor.
?
Drouks, 15:54 - DK decide to strike down their opposition, marching inside the base through the bottom lane. A spectacular three-man black hole seals the deal for DK, winning the fight and the first game along with it. Invictus Gaming call the gg!
Drouks, 15:49 - A long fight around the Rosh pit turns into a disaster for iG, losing a 4-1 fight and the Roshan kill as well! Amazing hookshot by rOtk throws Zhou's Lifestealer out of the fight.
ReiNNNN, 15:46 - After so many minutes of disarment, iG recklessly dive mid tower and paid an expensive price for it. iG lost Lifestealer and Timbersaw for it
ReiNNNN, 15:37 - No kills for the first 13 minutes. The first engagement of the game resulted in seven deaths, four on iG's side and three on DK. Chinese Dota at its finest.
ReiNNNN, 15:32 - Still no kill at 11 minutes.... Even 820 think it's pretty boring.
ReiNNNN, 15:28 - It's 7 minutes into the game and still no First Blood. Only one smoked was popped so far (from iG) but they didn't get a kill from that. iG pushed top tier-one instead.
ReiNNNN, 15:21 - I bet you have never seen a Chinese Timbersaw before.
ReiNNNN, 15:10 - DK versus iG LIVE! Respect ban for ChuaN. Chen first ban.
Tjernobyl, 15:03 - Wow, after the game, Alliance exit their booth to greet LGD but LGD were just gone, they ran off instantly after the GG-call. I guess they expected to win that second game. Alliance have yet to lose a single game in a tournament with both Western and Eastern teams participating. Dendi said the Allstar match mostly was a waste of time, same as the 1vs1 tournament.
Dragonccc, 15:01 - DK and iG entered their booths in accordance with the crowd's cheers. The long awaited best of three between China's giants will start soon.
ReiNNNN, 14:45 - Unfortunately for LGD.cn, they couldn't manage to hold their barracks and Alliance just rolled through them in their base, twice.
Silverbret614, 14:43 - Alliance is on fire! They are heavily outplaying LGD.cn and all of a sudden the Chinese boys are on the back foot
Tjernobyl, 14:40 - Everyone here at the venue is amazed by the first game between LGD and Alliance, both Capitalist and LD agreed that it's an amazing show to start the day with. Although they both also agreed that Alliance had the game but gave LGD a few openings, but great plays all around. Spoke with Black too, we'll be doing an interview with him later today. He's rooting for LGD, waving his LGD flag around cause "Fuck Europe!" He'll of course be rooting for Burning and his DK in the match afterwards. I managed to find Dendi looking rather bored where he was sitting at Na`vi's balcony, browsing through his phone and looking up whenever the crowd was shouting. He mentioned LGD missplaying in the base race, they should have teleported Magnus back but maybe he didn't have teleport or ultis ready. I told Dendi I haven't never been to China before whereas he calmly responded "Don't." Furthermore he said it's obvious you want to aggressive trilane with the lane Alliance have (Gyro, Naga, CM) and that Naga probably will pick up a Poor Man's Shield due to base armor being 6. With the Shield, auto-attacks can't hurt her.
Dragonccc, 14:39 - LGD.cn shows how stable and strong they are by pulling off a currently spectacular performance after having a grueling game one.
Silverbret614, 14:35 - Amazing turnaround by Alliance, killing off 4 of LGD.cn and got the Aegis on the back of that. LGD.cn came in again and managed to pop the Aegis, but gave up another 3 kills
Silverbret614, 14:34 - Great play by Yao, buying time for his teammates to come in and secure the kills on s4 and Bulldog
Drouks, 14:33 - First tier-one goes down for LGD, 11.30 minutes into the game.
ReiNNNN, 14:30 - In contrary to the first game, this game is much more action-packed. LGD is doing extremely well with their rotation while Alliance isn't doing that well due to their failed offensive trilane.
Silverbret614, 14:23 - Alliance's tri-lane engaged into LGD's defensive tri-lane again, only for Loda to go down again along with EGM. Sylar also went down
Silverbret614, 14:21 - Loda got caught with the Nightmare, and Akke sacrificed himself to save him, giving first blood to LGD.cn in doing so. However, Loda wanted to get a revenge kill and turned around for the Bane, but nice body block from Sylar ensured the Gyro's death as well.
ReiNNNN, 14:16 - There we go. Game is paused at the moment with Alliance in the Rosh pit at level one!
Silverbret614, 14:08 - Game 2 has started. Draft will be up soon.
Silverbret614, 13:53 - In the end, it was Alliance who had the superior pushing power thanks to mega creeps and Lancer. The Swedes powerhouse took game 1.
Silverbret614, 13:52 - As the game approached the 60-minute mark, LGD.cn won another teamfight outside their base, taking down Loda twice. However, Bulldog bought back and managed to push down all of LGD's rax. Base race time!!!
Drouks, 13:40 - Alliance take down Roshan again, with no intervention from the Chinese - Cheese on Bulldog, Aegis on s4 - Roshan Timer- 57.05
Silverbret614, 13:44 - LGD.cn won another fight, but it did them little good as they could not push forward after winning it.
Drouks, 13:40 - Loda sneaks some illusions inside LGD's base, destroying the top barracks without harm!
Drouks, 13:38 - LGD destroy the third Roshan within seconds, with xiao8 preventing s4 from interfering with the kill. The following fight ends 3-2 in favor of Alliance, while the top Radiant barracks are seriously wounded. Roshan timer - 46.40
Silverbret614, 13:33 - s4 hooked in and found xiao8, but Sylar quickly killed him off. Loda sneaked in from behind and picked off LGD's supports. Buyback from Sylar drove Alliance back, but LGD.cn has their backs against the wall now.
Drouks, 13:27 - An amazing blinding light by Akke buys Alliance enough time to drive LGD away from Roshan, securing the kill for the Swedes! Timer : 36.35
Silverbret614, 13:25 - Bulldog got caught in the river and, despite his best effort, got killed off. LGD.cn teleported back just in time to defend their tier 3 tower, claiming an important kill on Loda in the process.
Silverbret614, 13:20 - Big fight broke out near the Rosh pit as LGD.cn inititaed on Alliance. It looked like they got the fight in the bag, but a little bit of hesitation allowed Loda and Buldog to escape, eventually turning back to take down Alchemist after his BKB ran out - Twitch stream is back up.
ReiNNNN, 13:16 - Twitch stream just died. I'm still watching from DotaTV. The score is now 7-13 in favour of Alliance and the Swedes also just took down Roshan. LGD tried to contest for it but they were too late.
Silverbret614, 13:08 - Yao managed to Skewer the real Loda into his tower, pop the Aegis before Alliance can react. Both teams traded kills but LGD.cn came out on top with Sylar killing off both AdmiralBulldog and Loda for a second time.
Drouks, 13:04 - Alliance take down Roshan, along with two heroes of LGD, but giving AdmiralBulldog in the process - Roshan time 13.35.
ReiNNNN, 13:00 - Clockwerk picks up the solo kill on Magnus for First Blood. TobiWan misses First Blood.
ReiNNNN, 12:57 - Here is the draft for the game. No First Blood spilled eight minutes in.
Tjernobyl, 12:43 - Walked around and poked a few people, asking for winner of the current match (Alliance vs LGD). YYF, miGGel, WinteR, all of them are expecting the outcome 2-0 for Alliance. Asked FATA- of mouz too but he mostly muttered "I don't know", not that much interest from him. Also, it's starting to bother me that Wagamama is named "Niklas Magnus" on the stream, I thought his last name was Högström? People went "booooooo" in the venue as Alliance picked up the Phantom Lancer.
Drouks, 12:40 - The drafting phase is on, both teams look very concentrated!
ReiNNNN, 12:31 - Bruno looking so slick
Silverbret614, 12:28 - Team Liquid has some pretty interesting fans showing up today...
ReiNNNN, 12:26 - ixmike's biggest fan!
Drouks, 12:22 - Alliance have never lost to an Asian team - but there is a first time for everything...or not?.
Tjernobyl, 12:15 - There are team flags hanging above the team balconies. The flags are also lit up, except the flags for the eliminated teams which are darkened. Harsh.
ReiNNNN, 12:12 - I'm watching TI3 from MUFC's gaming house today. Where are you watching it from?
Silverbret614, 12:08 - Fun fact: syndereN has been to all the TIs so far, and he finished 16th every-single-time. #shotsfired
ReiNNNN, 12:03 - Maelk looking really cute today.
ReiNNNN, 11:59 - Here are some interviews we conducted yesterday. We have an ixmike one incoming as well but Youtube randomly cut off the last part of the interview. We are trying to re-upload it.
AdmiralBulldog interview
Xiao8 interview
Burning interview
ReiNNNN, 11:53 - 5 minutes from the start of Alliance vs LGD.cn, who do you think will win?
