TI3 1v1 tournament commences

Brackets for the much-anticipated 1v1 championship has just been announced by Valve, featuring matchups that will make every DotA 2 fan drool right from the get-go.     

Fan-favorite and Natus Vincere's solo mid player Dendi will be up against mouz's FATA- in the first round of the solo tournament. These two have had a lot of experience playing against each other as their teams have faced off quite often in during various European tournaments, making this a fun matchup to watch. Same thing applies to the all-Eastern matchup between Orange Esports' Mushi and LGD.cn's xiao8 and the all-Chinese affair between Invictus Gaming's Ferrari and TongFu.Mu. Meanwhile, the last and only inter-continental matchup of the round matchup of the first round will feature the ever-consistent s4 of Alliance versus iceiceice the troll master. 

Despite being just a side event at this year's International, the inaugural solo championship is widely considered a must-watch for DotA 2 fans around the world as they get to see the world's best going head-to-head, where no factor other than skill will decide the outcome of these heavyweight encounters.

Games will be played later today at 7 P.M. PDT in a best-of-3, single-elimination format. Two games will be played simultaneously. The grand final will be played on August 8th, day two of the main event. 

 

The game is won when a player has 2 hero kills or 2 tower kills

Draft Rules: 

Every game is a mirror match, meaning each player plays the same hero. Each player picks their two favorite heroes (their first and second choice). Shadow Fiend is not allowed as one of these, he is always used if a third game is needed.

Not Allowed:

- Jungling
- Major creep blocks/re-routes
- Soul Ring

Allowed:

- Runes and Bottle Crowing
- Upgrading Courier
