EMS One Summer Group B came to a conclusion as Rox.Kis defeated iNfernity 2-0 to qualify for the LAN finals in Poland. Meanwhile in Group C, Rat in the Dark came out on top of an epic Best of 3, pushing the champions of Dreamhack Summer 2013 down to Lower Bracket.
Coming into the last play day of Group B, all eyes were on RoX.KIS as they looked to grab the second ticket to Poland and leave the betting scandal behind. They did just that, rolling through Keita Gaming and iNfernity Gaming in straight games and qualified for the LAN finals in a very convincing fashion. As for iNfernity, they will have to go through the "wildcard" single-bracket elimination round for a chance to get the last spot to Poland.
Qualified teams:
Evil Geniuses
Quantic Gaming
Fnatic.eu
Flip.Sid3 Tactics
RoX.KIS
Group C
Down in group C, Alliance went into their first match without EGM and Akke for the first game. Despite having to play with two stand-ins, they took game 1 with ease and welcomed back Akke for game 2. However, Rat in the Dark persevered nearly an hour of constant split-pushing by Alliance before rushing down mid for a base rush and took an epic game 2 with spectacular individual play and teamwork.
The Finnish squad carried the momentum into game 3, picking up Doom two games in a row and once again forced the "gg" call from Alliance. Rat in the Dark will face up against Mousesports in the Upper Bracket for the first LAN finals spot, while Alliance will have to continue through the Lower Bracket.
The VOD of the epic second game between Alliance and Rat will be uploaded on our coverage hub here as soon as it is made available.
The remaining matches of group C will be played out tomorrow with Mousesports looking to punch the first ticket to Poland, while Alliance will look to redeem themselves after a sloppy start.
