Lima Major group stage team and hero statistics

With the group stages for the Lima Major done and dusted, we take a look at the team and hero statistics for all 149 games played.

The group stages of the Lima Major are in the rear-view mirror and the playoff brackets have been set. The first Major of the 2023 DPC season sure has sprung some surprises on us. Entity, who made it to the Major after a never ending tiebreaker in Western Europe, have shined in Lima. At the same time, TI11 champions Tundra Esports, who also made it through the WEU tiebreakers, barely hung on. BetBoom Team, the Eastern European powerhouse that won the EEU DPC League, was eliminated in the group stages. It goes to show that the international stage is a whole different ball game.

In the group stages of the Lima Major, a total of 149 games were played, which saw 106 heroes picked. Even though the meta is top heavy in favor of a few heroes, certain unexpected ones have shown up in games. As we get ready for the playoffs of the last tournament to be played on Dota 2 patch 7.32, let’s take a look at the team and hero statistics for the group stages of the Lima Major.

TI11 was dominated by Western Europe, with three of the top four teams hailing from the region. All four WEU teams have made it to the playoffs of the Lima Major and are in the running to maintain the region’s domination. Other than WEU, the region that looks good is South America, with both their teams making it to the playoffs for a chance to play in front of the home crowd.

While the meta has been the same for a while now, no team has mastered it. The group stages showed that there is still strong competition between the teams, with both group A leaders Gaimin Gladiators dropping five games of the 16 they played. The playoffs for the Lima Major begin on the 28th of February, with the grand final taking place on the 5th of March. The excitement won’t end on the 5th though, as we are destined to have a new Dota 2 patch (patch 7.33) on the 6th of March. There’s a lot to look forward to in the days to come!
